MIchael District Commissioners 20mph Update

Michael District Board Announcement – Public announcement. - 20mph speed limit proposals. 

The Board Members of Michael District Commissioners have over recent months spoken to many local constituents about the proposed 20mph speed limit plans that the DOI wish to implement. Whilst there was some limited support for the proposal, the overwhelming response was that the changes were unnecessary. 

Subsequently the Board proposed and unanimously voted to oppose the change to 20mph and for the main road in Kirk Michael to remain as a 30mph speed limit. The proposal supported an increase in the length of the 30mph speed limit to include Rhencullen due to the number of properties adjoining the road through this area. 

The result of this proposal was presented to Minister Haywood and DOI officers during the consultation process. 

Michael District Commissioners are hopeful that local voices will be listened to.
